By installing, accessing, or using the AI Autocomplete Chrome Extension ("the Extension", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

AI Autocomplete is a browser extension that provides intelligent text completion suggestions using AI models via the OpenRouter API. The Service enhances your typing experience by offering context-aware text predictions when explicitly triggered.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • You must not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

4. User Accounts and API Keys

4.1 OpenRouter API Key

  • You must provide your own OpenRouter API key to use the Service
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key
  • You are responsible for all activities and charges incurred under your API key
  • The Extension stores your API key locally in encrypted Chrome storage

4.2 Premium Subscription (When Available)

  • Premium features require a paid subscription through ExtensionPay
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by law
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes
  • Not use the Service to generate harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Not attempt to bypass or manipulate the Service's features or limitations
  • Not use the Service to violate the rights of others
  • Comply with OpenRouter's terms of service and acceptable use policies

You agree NOT to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
  • Modify, adapt, or hack the Extension
  • Use the Service for automated or bulk text generation
  • Share your premium account (when applicable) with others
  • Use the Service to plagiarize or infringe on copyrights
  • Generate content that violates any applicable laws

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Extension Ownership

  • The Extension and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer
  • The Extension is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws

6.2 Your Content

  • You retain all rights to the text you input and the suggestions you accept
  • By using the Service, you grant us no rights to your content
  • AI-generated suggestions may not be unique to you

6.3 Third-Party Services

  • OpenRouter and the AI models have their own intellectual property terms
  • Generated content may be subject to the AI model provider's terms

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Key points:

  • Text is only sent to OpenRouter when you trigger autocomplete
  • We do not store your text content permanently
  • Your settings and preferences are stored locally

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 "AS IS" Service

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF GENERATED CONTENT

8.2 No Guarantee of Availability

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • The Service depends on third-party APIs (OpenRouter) which may experience downtime
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time

8.3 Content Accuracy

  • AI-generated suggestions may contain errors, biases, or inappropriate content
  • You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content
  • Do not rely on AI suggestions for critical decisions without verification

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for premium features (if any) in the past 12 months

We are not liable for damages resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Unauthorized access to your data
  • Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
  • Third-party service interruptions

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your use of AI-generated content
  • Your violation of applicable laws

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

  • You may terminate these Terms by uninstalling the Extension
  • Termination does not entitle you to refunds for premium subscriptions

12.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Non-payment of premium subscription fees
  • Any other reason at our sole discretion

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Governing Law and Disputes

17. Open Source Components

This Extension may include open source software components. Each component is subject to its own license terms, which can be found in the Extension's documentation.

18. Export Controls

You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
